Hi all, I’m a newbie needing help from Southport..
I am trying to cut vehicle lettering for my Mercedes long wheel base sprinter. I’m using adobe illustrator on a mac. The problem is when I load up the vehicle template it is larger than the art board, the maximum art board size I can go too with illustrator is 5 metres and the template is larger. How do I scale it down so I can set it out on one art board so I can design the van lettering and then cut it on my vinyl cutter or do I have to do it in sections. I appreciate I’m a newbie but this problem is really holding me back. I’ve no problem designing smaller vinyl stickers but the size of the van side is a problem. Thanks in advance

    David

What template library are you using? Most libraries include templates at actual size as well as scaled 1:20 for use in illustrator.

There is a folder on the disc called AI 1-20 – this folder contains all the illustrator files scaled 1:20 (don’t use the files in the eps folder as these are all actual size).

Thanks Phil, I’ll try that and see if I cavort it out. I’ve never used vehicle templates. Learning illistrator as well, I’m used to photoshop and image manipulation..if I get stuck hope I can get back to you cheers
