I did a van on friday, which was a 3colour job.

Red text with a black drop shadow, and blue text with pin stripes.

I used impact 1:20 outline and added a registration line along the bottom of the text to be layered up.

We applied the black shadow fine, but when applying the red the registration line was shorter, and we ended up applying wet in pieces. Taking way too long.

I am thinking cutting master is the issue as I used exactly the same registration line in illustrator when cutting each layer.

What’s the best way to scale up files for cutting?

What’s the best way to layer up long bits of text? Use one long registration mark or word by word? I think I need some clear app tape 🙂

Buy a dedicated sign program that doesn’t require scaling,
Illustrator and the likes are Design programs, designed to produce scaled plans etc, and full size objects up to A sizes,
We use EasySign, brilliant program, & Composer, which I’m not as fond of.
There are others that get equally as good a reports such as Felixsign, Signlab.
In Easysign the biggest i’ve worked on is a Hoarding 400 meters long at 1:1 !!!
