  • SC 540 Head Alignment – Service Manual

    I am seeking help with aligning the back print head on my SC540 (VersaWorks). I have had a technician look at the machine and he said that the settings are within the parameters and I am too fussy.

    I am getting a noticeable white line when printing black against red. From what I have read and people I have spoken to, the back print head needs alignment.

    Can anyone tell me where I can purchase a service manual for the SC540 or SC 545ex? I have seen service manuals for the XC540 on ebay which have the solution to the ‘white line’ problem.

    All advice is much appreciated…

    Hi
    several things can cause your problem some are do able from the menu, are you printing uni or bi directional, quality settings, calibration & environmental settings. If you drew a red circle with a black outline does it show a white line all around it? Maybe post a picture of the problem, but firstly i would introduce yourself in the appropriate forum i’m sure you will then get more help.

    other thing is that all the colours are to aligned with the black head not the other way round.

    as kevin says. if printing bi-dir then is the bi-dir been calibrated.

    Thank you for your advice.

    I am having the problem in the feed direction, not bi-direction. It is only with black so I figured that I could simply adjust the black head to match. I have tried printing in uni-direction and there was no difference. If I draw a red circle with a black outline, the white line is on one side only (side closest to the back of the printer).

    I am using VersaWorks – Generic Vinyl IIB on standard setting. The head height is set to medium.

    I use Australian Graphics Supplies. My experience with them is that they’re fussier than me….

    Which AGS branch do you deal with?

    I don’t think the AGS on the Gold Coast have a Roland Technician. They mainly deal with Mutoh.

    No mate, I purhased my Roland from them 4.5 years ago.

    They converted my Roland to Techinks solvent 4 years ago too.

    All the techs have experience in Roland’s, most or trained overseas from what I know. Ring the Brisbane office, ask for Phil Keenan. He travels a bit so may not be available, but he’s the guy that has been looking after my sc540ex machine for years. Failing that, send an email to (mod-edit) and they’ll get back to you.

    Tell them you know me from the UKSB’s, most of the guys there know me very well 😳
