Hi all. Ive had a desktop sg400 printer for around 4/5 years now. i use it for mugs and now and again prints onto white polyester.

It doesnt get used a huge amount, often sits for 3 months without a job although it does its routine maintenance to stop the heads drying. This year ive noticed the black struggling, often needs a flush or two to get all the nozzles back, anyway yesterday i had an order and 20% of the nozzles seems to be gone, cleaning, flushing has not made any difference. Even cleaned the maintenance station.

So my question is…are these fixable? can the head be replaced or fixed by an engineer or is it throw away and replace?

If its the latter then i need to sit down and see the work it has done and evaluate if its worth replacing.

    TIA

we have the full setup but very seldom use it as we only use it for internal garment things like workwear for our staff and the like. so much so, I actually have replaced the printer several times over the years for this very reason!

i am sure we have called the supplier and of the bulk ink system and ink and all they say is it would need to be addressed by the printer manufacturer direct. but post the printer to us, we send to the manufacturer to evaluate and take it from there!

    alternatively, buy another printer!
as they are only about ยฃ150 we end up buying the printer rather than faffing about with return parcels and waiting to be told it’s our fault. Not ideal, i know, but they kinda have you over a barrel at this point. ๐Ÿคจ

We spent almost the price of a set of cartridges trying to get one going again but to no avail. Still has banding through the prints so the bins the only place for it ๐Ÿ™
