Sales positions, advice needed please?
Posted by Mark.Kelly on March 22, 2018 at 6:34 amLooking to find out how and what other companies pay their salespeople? What is the going rate and how should it be structured? I’m sure the answers will be varied but just looking for some input.
Thanks in advance.Kevin Mahoney replied 6 years, 3 months ago 10 Members · 21 Replies -

We were paying our guy £30k…company car and expenses and commission..
-
quote Colin Crabb:£32k + £20K OTE + company car/car allowance
What is OTE?
-
£4.50 per hour, use of the company bicycle at weekends, half day Christmas & boxing day
-
Doing well if you get paid at the end of the month 😆 😆 😆 😆

Is wouldn’t recommend it to be honest!! I sold more in 7 hours sat on my desk than my sales guy did doing 4500 miles and giving me expenses for nearly 800 in fuel!
If you have someone bringing you accounts than it probably worth it but if they are building new accounts it can take time and be frustrating for the employer having to pay and nothing coming in

Still, I looked the dogs with my white skyway mags and layback sadldle!!!!!

Hope it had cw handlebars and mushroom grips too! Sounds like a great bike
-
CW’s! Saved up for 6 months to buy those for my mongoose then had my bike nicked 2 days after I put them on, gutted
-

Now we’re talking – mushroom grips and cw’s!!! though I ended up with (can’t recall the brand) a set of bars with double crossbars.. easier to balance your little brother on like ET!!

Hang on a minute…
Didn’t this post start life as a sales salary question?
Must say I much prefer the 1980s time traveling theme -
It did, and the conclusion I’ve come to is.
You don’t need to be offering £30k+, OTE, Company cars, expenses. Just a BMX, some coloured tyres and matching mushroom grips

If you get me a Raleigh Chopper I’ll move over from Ireland and work for you. 3 gears, no messing about there :smiles: :smiles: :smiles:

Was too short for the chopper as I was only 10, my mongoose was top of the line until they brought out the pro class one with holes drilled in the rims between every spoke. Drilled mine out & lost 3 back teeth when I went up a kerb on the way to school
