I’ve just printed about 6m of PVC banner.

I then come to print a smaller one, to notice there’s no black. I know the black ink was low, but it should pause when it’s empty.

I’ve syringed some ink through so there’s ink in the dampers/lines but when I run a test print there’s nothing.

Just ran a powerful clean and there’s still nothing.

Any idea’s what the cause is, and any solutions?

I had a similar problem with my Cadet

Turned out the damper was at fault even though I was able to draw ink through with a syringe. I think the filter was choked.

I’ve changed the Data Cables, so Cyan is on Black and Black is on Cyan, and got black and no cyan.

One engineer suggested fuses had blown, however two heads off one fuse would mean I loose C&K or M&Y not just one.

I spoke to another engineer who suggested changing the cables over at both ends to rule out a cable issue, and it now points to the main board. 🙁

I’ve called it a day as I’ve exhausted my technical knowledge and have a price in from VTS to get the machine back online and then warrant it.
