Is there any way to stop this happening when I print on to wrap vinyl? I’m guessing the fact that the vinyl is so thin and gets a bit softer when the ambient temperature is very warm like it is now that the rollers just leave a slight impression on the vinyl which then shows in the print?

It mainly effects solid colour, particularly blue and grey. Have tried various profiles and temp settings but can never eradicate it. Is this still an issue on newer printers like the HP latex?

My printer can’t print right up to the edge and stops short of the rollers – I had assumed all printers were the same?

Phill I think he means the middle rollers.
These can be easily removed on my Roland, I assume there is a way to remove them on your machine as well Jon.

Try reducing the heat first but have you ever cleaned them? Maybe there could be some contamination on them?

If the JV33 is anything like the JV3 or even a Rockhopper the roller arrangement is a more comprehensive affair with them being around 2" wide in a 2" roller / 2" gap / 2" roller over the entire width.

We get the same minor banding when printing certain colours as full blocks on the Mimaki…not every time though – tried everything (temperatures / vinyl type)…nothing works.

On the whole, most customers are unlikely to comment at the minor stripe left as they are looking at the whole job.

Yes, there are 17 sets of rollers so 34 in total. I’ve tired cleaning them but it doesn’t help.

I think it might be engineer time then I’m afraid.
