The sales rep said ‘you never have to clean the heads’

I’ve operated a number of digital printers over the last 12 years and there’s not one that didn’t need cleaning

Has technology really advaced this far? 😀

we have the sc545ex with max inks which is the bigger brother but same technology and it goes through an automated head cleaning process, brings itself out of standby mode every so often and cleans itself, (wish my stepson would learn to do the same!)

    great printer though

my seiko’s ‘clean’ themselves at certain print-run intervals, but a ‘human’ clean of the station and wiper blades are performed everyday.

The new VersaCAMMS (not sure about the old ones) goes through a cleaning cycle about every 24 hours regardless if you are using it or not. As long as you leave the main power on (on the side) it will do this automatically. My rep said a few people were calling him freaking out because the machine turned on by itself in the middle of the night and started cleaning. It’s a nice feature if you are on vacation. You still have to do a manual cleaning of the area around the heads for ink build-up.
