Just a public thank you to Tom King from roland who’s advise has just saved me £170.00 😀

had a problem on my sp-300, the print was ‘shattered’ i have had this before and it was the linear encoder (the thin clear plastic strip running across the back of the machine) a call to roland (which took just under 24hrs to return 🙁 ) and tom confirmed my thoughts that it was the encoder, new one £170.00+vat + carriage!!!!!!
he then said have you tried turning it upside down?

10mins later, one encoder turned upside down, one machine printing ok and £170.00 still in my pocket!……… Tom King – top man!!!

We did this on one of our printers about 9 months ago. It’s still running strong now so now way is it just a temporary measure either. Having said that I now have the back up of a spare encoder strip in the cupboard though 😉

    Cheers
