Roland sp540v scan motor error
Hi all was wondering if anyone had one to spare. Recently got the 010 scan motor error on my roland vcamm.
Tried everything so think the motor maybe have died. 🙁
If anyone has a spare id willing to buy and pay for next day delivery to Belfast if possible.

Check first that there is nothing obstructing the movement of the carriage left to right. Easy to check with the machine powered down. The carriage should slide easily left to right

The carriage should slide easily left to rightThanks Phil.. tried everything. Cleaning and lubricating the rails. When i do a a limtization check. The cut carriage wont disconnet from the heads. Making me think the scan motor is dead as the head will only move a few mm then stop..

Been a while since I’ve been on here.
Have you tried calling Roland Support, even when you don’t have cover with them they are still really helpful.
I remember we had a scan motor error on a XR640 we tried everything to clear it but couldn’t, we called support and 24 hrs later a very helpful engineer spent 45 mins with us and reset everything and we were back up and running.
Its a way of you know for sure if you need a new motor.

Guys another question. Should the head lock into postion whens its righr across above the cap station. Theres a small black bix with a little metal finger sticking out that clicks when the head is across. Its clicks but the head doesnt lock in position ?

Does anyone know if this little chappy (black box) in photo. Once the head engages across should it lock into this?

Graeme any ideas why it isnt locking. For the life of me i cannot get it to lock 🙁

Sorry no not really. I think the catch is there to allow the cutter to separate from the print carriage. Just wondering if the part it clicks into is broken. I would have to have a look at my printer to see of I could come up with something else.

Move the carriage very slowly to the right until it’s just a couple of mm away from the end and it should lock in.
