Can anyone please tell me whats going on in these photos? The lines are occuring about 2 thirds of the way along the vinyl, and the print appears to be shifting.

The printer I am using is a Roland Versacamm SP-540V, with Metamark MD-I vinyl.

When I’ve done a test print, it looks perfect. Also done a medium and powerful head clean, and done an Env Match and Bi-Directional adjust.

    Any ideas?

Could it be heat related? We get all kinds of print issues first thing in the morning before the building heats up at the moment.
Is the printer in an office and does it get cold overnight?

Ah, well the printer is an office, but the office is in a unit/warehouse type building.

It does get cold overnight and we put the heating on when we arrive in the morning and it stays on all day until we leave at the moment.

Could that cause issues? I mean its warn in here now and im still having the same problem. :/

    Hi chris
    Did you get it sorted?
Try a different material to see if it’s the material or the printer

    Hi Alex,

Still having the same issue this morning, it did get better as the day went on yesterday, but became just as bad again this morning.

    SOLVED!

I have just changed the ICC profile from Metamark’s MD3 profile for Versaworks, to their MD5 profile and its printing perfectly!

Ususally I just use the Generic Vinyl 1 setting or MD3 profile for printing (I use Metamark digital vinyls) and generally don’y have issues, although recently I noticed that the Generic Vinyl 1 setting its producing liney print, waving almost with the colours getting lighter and darker. I thought maybe it was because I’d got it going too fast but I think now i have the right profile for the media, its perfect.

I guess that’s what they are there for! πŸ˜€

PS: Performing ENV Match a couple of times through the day seems to have stopped the printing shifting.
