Hi all had an old roll (not sure where from etc etc ) to try printing on untill some material arrives tomorrow and had a problem in printing due to material just touching head, the sort of thing that happens when normal vinyl rucks up a bit, anyway have you printed self cling on the above printer, just so I know I can sleep tonight
    thanks Rich

    Hi Richard,

I printed 5m x 1370mm of 6×6" static cling stickers just last week on MetaMark’s static cling. Its great stuff, has to be warm though before you use it. I put it on top of a radiator that’s on to warm the whole roll up. I print on it with my Grenadier it never rucks up, so it doesn’t hit the head as it passes over it.

Don’t tell me….. I bet it was Sericol?? I have placed 2 orders with them, the first they did the same, light cyan and light magenta. Second order was Mimaki inks instead of Roland. 😮 . Getting credits and and credit notes was a complete nightmare.

I have given up on them now.

    Cheers

    Hi Chris,

When I printed my static cling I set the pre-heater on the machine to the hottest. And made my room where the material is being printed to 22 centigrade. mmmmmm nice and cozy. The Metamark stuff prints great on my Grenadiers. Why don’t you upload the file so we can try printing it as well to see if we can print it for you.

How do you find the metamark stuff? We’ve used the penstick stuff before but it wasnt great.

Printed nice but it was the "wrong" way round, if it was white static cling the side you print on was less static than the side facing the backing paper which meant they didnt cling at all well. Resorted to printing on clear removable.

Would be interested to see what the metamark stuff is like.

    Hi Andy,

MetaMarks static cling clings brilliantly. Even with full ink coverage.
It does need to be warm to use those, otherwise the ink pools.
