Roland SoljetPosted by Warren Beard on 30 March 2007 at 18:53Hi Guys Some advice please, I have been offered the following for £14000 (ex vat) Is it a good deal. I believe the equipment is only about 6 months old. It is in perfect working condition and there are no catches (hasn’t been dropped or anything) Do I need to let you know any other information to give me a better idea? What are the pros & Cons of this machine? Roland Soljet printer/cutter and laminator (can print 1370mm wide) Thanks Warren Chris Wool replied 18 years, 7 months ago 6 Members · 13 Replies

Warren I looked at one that was 2 years old. It’s a good machine. Not sure if your price is the best though ……….. what spec is it? Does it have a take up reel and heater?
-
Hi Marcella I will try find out about the take up reel and heater. What are the implications if it does not have these and would it make the deal not worth while? That price is for the printer, cutter and laminater though and they will be giving me whatever stock they have (not sure yet how much though) Any other questions I should ask? Thanks again Warren

Others here can give you far better advice Warren. But I would be wanting a take up reel and a heater on it.
What kind of laminator is in the package?
-
Warren, it sounds a bit expensive,
does it come with a rip?A new jv3 1320sp2 + cutter and 2year warranty is not much, if any dearer. Comes with extraction (although basic) and take up reel. Peter

Hi Marcella I will need to find out what laminator it is, this is good because I am also finding out what I need to find out from them to see if it is a good deal, thanks. Peter, Again not sure if it comes with a rip, they have a dedicated PC running for the printer used as a RIP (they work of Mac for design and layout) So overall, even if it comes with a RIP, take up and heater it is not a deal to write home about or is it a good deal and worth looking further in to? thanks for the help guys Warren

quote Chris Wool:what model & model laminater why up for salechris Not sure yet about the models but will find out. selling because they are moving and they started as a design agency that tried to get in to signage but have not had the time to dedicate towards that side of the business so I would presume not generating enough ££££’s to sustain it. I sort of know them so they are not trying to pull a fast one or rip me off, they are selling for legitimate reasons so no worries about that. cheers Warren

Hi Guys – just purchased the Grenadier 2 (Roland sol jet) Solvent ink(installed yesterday – a few teething problems though – Take up reel a must – we just printed 4x 4mx1m banners with ease – although we have a contamination problem with the ink on gloss media at the moment and hoping engineer can solve on Monday
Took five guys to lift it up flight of stairs – what a beast compared to the cadet we trading in
