Can anyone help solve a contour cut problem. When printing with a contour cut (and giving a bleed) the cut is way off line. Did a cut adjustment and the problem is still there. Had engineer call out and he did a few things and when he printed three lines of labels the cut was not so bad. However have run another job today and the contour cut is off line again and it is only cutting on three sides! When I did a test print the cut went through on all four sides and when I put in some square labels without a contour cut but did prompt for a boundary cut the result was that it did cut on 4 sides but the cut was off to one side and cut through some of the text. Any suggestions!

Hi, check under and around the cutting blade / magic eye and remove any bits of vinyl & dirt residue and give it a good clean up. I have had similar problems in the past and found it was just bits if vinyl & dust interfering with the cutting. As I’m sure you know anyway its always a good idea to give the print file a bleed area on the shape to be cut.

    Hi Ryan

Thank you very much for your help, will try it. I also discovered that the pinch rollers were not under the silver guides therefore the media didn’t have sufficient grip and was obviously shifting. The only problem is that when all guides are in place you get roller marks down the media and it look dreadful. It seems that there is too much pressure on the guides going down on the media.

    Regards,

    Brian
