Roland red & black lines in print

any ideas as to whats wrong attached is a test print and what it is doing when printing

just of the top of my head have you tried cleaning tthe encoder strip

u need to setup 4 block .. one after another of C M Y and K.
See what happens to the lineslooks electrical

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that looks like an electrical fault on the head. Maybe something simple like the head cable but I would get your wallet ready for the potential of a replacement head or head/slider board.

To me, it looks like FFC damage. The ‘flat flexible cables’ are shorting. Normally happens if ink is allowed to settle in the FFCs after a service…

Different printer, mine is a Roland sp300 had the same printing problem after a new head was fitted, apparently while changing the head the main board received a static shock and needed to be replaced, not saying it is that but the print was the same as your photo, all changed and sorted under the repair contract.

You’d need to find the faulty FFC and replace it. I’d suggest getting a trained engineer to do this for you.

could the cleaner come in contact with the circuit on the head?
