    Hi,

I hope someone can help. I have a Roland VP 540 that is never ever faulted in the six years that I’ve had it and now all of a sudden the print and cut alignment is about a centimetre out in some places but not in all places I use Corral draw and just back to base Graphics Some of the cuts are quite detailed but like I say it’s never before had any problems it’s just started doing this. I tried many things reinstalling the software first works I tried Flexi I’ve tried Onyx but they all do the same so I bought a new printer a VS 540 still quite old I know but it’s a new to me And it does exactly the same thing so this shows me it wasn’t the printer. It must be a software issue I have bought a new laptop. I have reinstalled coreldraw which I have on a subscription basis so it’s always current. I have Windows 11 and versa works 5.51 which is the newest one that works with my printer as I mentioned I tried Flexi and his production manager as I don’t need the draw version of it as I use Corel and export all my files as EPS I have even tried PDF but this makes no difference. Has anyone had this issue? Does anyone know what? Maybe it could be? Where do I go from here? I’m getting rather bald with pulling all my hair out and it’s been an expensive trial to try and get this to rework.

Orders are getting old and refunds are being sent as this issue has slowed everything down or at least put everything to a stop. Any help would be most appreciated.

    Thank you

    Mark

Reading your detailed description it seems to me the only thing you haven’t yet ruled out is the cumminication between computer and printer as the problem isn’t consistant suggesting to me some corruption is taking place with the data transmission? Is it hard wired with a cable – if so have you tried a different cable? If it’s networked or wifi what could be causing a corruption in the data transmission? Can you simplify the communication between printer and computer e.g by connecting it with a usb cable ? Hope you get it sorted and when you do finally resolve the issue please report here for any other user’s to be aware of

It’s been years since we had an SP540 which was an older model but from memory we’d a similar problem when the encoder strip got dirty. Here’s a link to a video showing a similar model that might be a starting point for you – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rkxPhoJ4wGA
