  • Roland PC-60, voltage adjust fly lead?

Posted by Steve Fields on 24 July 2012 at 15:45

Just when everyone on here hoped and prayed they had heard the last of this machine, up I pop as its still earning me money.
Problem is that due to some malicious damage (women involved) I have had to prematurely change the print head for my brand new spare, (and my FJ400).
Does anyone know where I can get hold of the voltage adjust fly lead, think its called an SP-25 off the top of my head.
I know the head I’ve replaced is of a higher voltage than the last and am having difficulties laying metallics down.
    Many thanks
    Steve

roland is the only place for that.

i have one but sorry won’t let it out, seam to remember you don’t really have to use it, is does make life a bit easyer though.

when disconecting the head lead next to the adjusting pot make sure you turn it of for about 30 sec for the caps to lose there voltage. when the volt meter is connected you can watch the volts die down before disconecting again.

Thanks Chris, I’ll try Roland tomorrow but don’t hold out a lot of hope though.
Out of interest are you still using yours much now?

Just removed the head from the head carriage and aligned the new head by checking the distance between the two posts at the top of the head, adjusting the spring loaded Allen bolt before tightening the two inner screws up.
Sent the new TEI file to the head through a dos window and everything seems fine except the metallics.

there are special print patterns with in the setups to align the head.
after market metallics some times a bit of bother.
make sure that you use the correct bar code for the colour as this also adjusts the head firing and temp.

but as your first question the head voltage must be set correctly.
