any help would be greatly apreciated. are there any places i can take my printer and laptop to and they will install it for me?

sounds like too new programes and systems for an old machine. Windows 98/ 2000 would be more like it

driver is up to XP and a real parallel port, possible on old type serial.

Had mine running on xp pro and vista, the printer was selected from within flexisign and told which port it was connected to

Chris I remember years back when you helped me to set mine up, but other than missing the chrome for one job I did, god I don’t miss the pc60 one bit !
But we do know it has its place for that one off job !

how did you have it connected to the Vista machine? did you have to install the drivers or are they already integrated into flexi? this is my first cutter/printer (currently a uni student trying to set up my own company) so a bit of a novice at setting machines up.

If you contact your software supplier / manufacturer I’m sure they will offer
advice via their helpline to make connecting the printer easier. After all – that’s the benefit of having top end software.

I know companies like Cadlink offer support for their software, so think Flexi would too.

Or update relatively cheaply to a newer version that runs on Windows XP. I am sure SA International will have an upgrade policy for registered users. 😀

Is that reply as subtle as yours Mr Rogers 😉

its not the actual software – i have that up and running on Vista, I also have another cutter running through Flexi on the Vista machine, its the Roland drivers im having trouble with.

Just out of curiosity I searched for the upgrade prices, only found the USA ones but gives you an idea. You can upgrade from Version 8 to 10.

Edit: Sorry just re-read that you have Flexi running, the problem is with the Roland drivers.

From what I understand / read – it won’t run on Vista PROPERLY.

    XP – all the way.

The FLEXI drivers for the Roland are IN Flexi already.

Like I said – if you contact Flexi / Roland and they will have all of the recent patches / advice & how-to info for your setup rather than us taking a million pop-shot guesses.

I think they all use Impact for vehicle outlines on here. It’s about £130 I think.

I own a PC600 (not PC60), it works well under WinXP, on a PC with real parallel port and on a USB/Parallel adapter. It also worked on WinXP installed on a iMac (under "Parallels" software and MacOS 10.6.2 and a USB/parallel port adapter).

It should work on WinVista (only if 32bit version, not with 64bit version).

    I used ColorChoice Rip.
