  • Roland Magenta Print head not firing fully !!! Please Help !

Posted by Shane O Grady on 18 May 2010 at 13:10

Hi, We have a Roland SP540v here, has recently been serviced and the print head was properly aligned at the same time, straight away after this we printed something and about half a meter in the magenta stopped printing. The magenta cartridge was only replaced before the print began. There is no air lock in the pipes, i have pumped them out with cleaning solution and refilled with ink, when i disconnect the pipe going from the cap to the pump i can syringe through a mixture of yellow and magenta no problem. I have also done numerous head cleans – normal and powerful to no avail

The magenta lines on the test print are in different places after each clean however

Any idea people, i need to get this sorted. Things are tough enough as it is !!!

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Shane,

Had a similar problem. Thought it was a head gone down. Eventually turned out to be the pump!!! Worth trying a replacement for around £40.

Hi, how old are the dampers on the printer / cleaning wipers and wiper scraper? sometimes there are issues with ink flow, what inks are you using?
