We are trying to get our Roland to recognize black crop marks on silver media but are having problems. The eye wont recognise the marks, could this be due to the reflectiveness of the media? If so what can we do to sort it out?

We usually put bits of Magic Tape over the crop marks to reduce the reflectivity.
This works, but it’s bit trial and error.

On my VersaCamm there is a manual alignment setting that has got me out of a muddle a few times when I’ve had exactly this problem. I like the Scotch tape idea though. Could maybe try sticking a bit of matte laminate over them too?

I got round it by using cut up bits of address labels from Staples.

I use a bit of semi smooth sandpaper to rough up the marks. This works fine for my GX24.
