do you know if the actual machine can be upgraded to be used by versaworks chris?
versaworks is a very good software, we have it for one of our machines but wish i had both running from it.

Apparently the SP300 has the wrong board installed not like the SP300V.
I think when i asked the other year, it was going to be a big cost? unless anyone knows any different?

yes you need to change the pcb.board about 10 minutes work but about a grand for the board.

versaworks is a big inprovement over colorip but still crap with handling pdfs.

trying ringing roland direct, tell them that you plan on using roland ecosol inks and they might do you a cheap deal on new heads, pump and PCB Board.

cost me about £900 on my sp300 and the machine now runs like new and i got a 12 month warranty on everything best £900 i have spent for years..

colour rip is ok for me it dos what i want well with my sc540 ex.
    ecosol max inks.
the best set of profiles are from allprint supplies.
i don’t like being left behind with a rip but i would not spend a load of dosh for little gain.
the ability to run the printer from any computer with colourrip loaded,
i do not wish to be tied to one computer for the rip.

my problem will come as robs is when you try to integrate a new machine with my old one.
in the mean time it ain’t broke so not fixing it.
