The Ferrari desk looks impressive, the Connect van looks good, for some reason the fridge is my favourite but I’ve got to be honest Dave and say that the kerning around the A’s on the Cheryl Fitzgerald signs is doing my head in

    Thanks for sharing

thanks, was also pleased with desk and fridge especially…kerning, ‘client supplied logo…do not alter’. I should also mention that the letters either side of the A accentuate the gap although the spacing between the serifs are ‘correct’ for the font but not visually even.

Client was over the moon with the job and paid well for it…

    I like them all !!
Yes the spacing around the A does stand out but any normal customer wouldn’t see that in a million years (hot).
Should we explain to the customer even though it’s their logo ?
    Thanks for showing and sharing

Thanks for taking the time to load your work Dave, good to see you have been busy as ever mate!

If a customer insists we copy the artwork he supplies. there is little we can do i guess…
However, I often amend something i think looks wrong and allow the customer to correct me. to date, i don’t think i have been…

To be honest, our experience and knowledge should be applied in every instance of our profession.
whether that be design, materials used, installation practice and more. You/We are supposed to be the professionals here. regardless to the old saying, the customer isn’t always right. 😀

just my opinion of course… 😀

Agreed, it’s totally unacceptable that of the several hundred jobs I take the time to post pictures of a few slip through that doesn’t meet my peers standards …and I take the pats on the back as well as the slaps round the back of the head for obvious mistakes.
I’m not the sort to need affirmation and don’t mind a review of the good and not so good ( I post my stuff up as barely another soul does and it provides a nice online archive for myself and others to inspire whether through admiration or revulsion!)
I thought this was a pretty dead thread, and certainly a well flogged point? I…I…I have brought shame upon my house.

I shall henceforth say 6 "our Lambie’s" in penitence!

"Our Lambie who art in Glasgow, Robert be thy name. Let thy wrap truck come as in London also in Dundee. Deliver us today our digital vinyl and forgive us our spelling mistakes as we forgive those who cannot kern."

    Amen

    "Places hand on David’s head"

Fret not David, for they know not what they do. these apostles are merely trying to spread to you the good word from the sign layout bible by Mike Stevens. etched in MDF by CNC router, dating back thousands of hours.
I do hear your cries of frustration, but unfortunately I feel your kerning crime is darker than process black, and have no alternative to pass down a further 10 "Our Lambies", followed by "200 Hail UKSB’s". In the mean time, I and all other sign makers will light a candle and pray for you this Sunday, tonight at midnight Sign Service.

If we are having an a confessional then I need to hang my head in shame as well for I have not yet read the Gospel according to (he’s definitely no Saint) Phill 😳 😳
