• Road Sign Font

    Hi All

Is there such a thing as a ‘Standard Road Sign’ font, like those used in road name signs??

Would ‘Arial Black’ be the correct one to use.

    Thanks for any help
    Regards

Try the site http://www.allan-online.com or a quick search on google will find this site.

They have transport fonts etc for you to download for free.

Various council authorities specify different typefaces, but one that is used quite widely is called “kindersley”
    Hope this helps !

It depends on what signs you’re making…

‘Standard Road Sign’ font… this will be the font used on all direction signs in the UK. These are standard fonts and the official version are AutoCAD “shx” files.

‘Road name signs’… Street name plates are very often made using the Kindersley, although there is no standard… it usually comes down to which County you’re in.

    Cheers
