    Hi all,

I dont suppose anyone has any ideas why all of a sudden my previously reliable PC-60 has started playing up.

I have been finding that it will cut an almost feathered line as if the blade of vinyl is ‘juddering’ somethimes this is barely visible and the vinyl weeds perfectly, other times it is like a serated cut or tearing along a dotted line leaving a tiny jagged edge, and sometimes it will be so bad that is simply isnt possible to weed.

It usually happens in small radius curves in lettering but occasionally on a straight, and usually where the pen is changing direction a lot.

I have tried tuning it out with the pen force, and replaced the blade several times but nothing has helped.

Has anyone come acress this before?

    Thanks

    Pete

A stranger is only a stranger until they answer your question in a forum, then they are a friend.

what we are getting at in a round about way is we like to know who we are talking to.
we have a say hello bit so you can’t tell us about yourself.

your blade holder probably has grit in it or the bearing has failed.
remove the holder , blade and unscrew the end depth cover, spray lots of wd40 in to the blade hole, dry off rebuild and test.
else newness required because its been new to long.
thats all if I understand the fault you discribed as being the blade is not swivelling caster action during curves.

Much appreciated my friend, I will try that tomorrow.

And intro myself in the appropriate section as this seems to be the most active of all the UK signage boards.

    Thanks again

Chris youre a star. I took the blade and holder out, applied a tiny amount of grease to the blade shaft and worked it into the holder.

    Works perfectly now.

    Thank you very much.

I am looking to upgrade soon, but the old girl will last me a bit longer now.
