    Hi

I currently have two printers running from the same computer.

One on Colorip(Wasatch) and one on Wasatch(DGi version). These programs will not run together.

I have a dual core processor PC.

Does anybody have a setup that has both printers printing from one computer at the same time? Is this Possible?
    What Software are you using?

    Thanks in Advance

    Stephen

a lot of rips will allow multiple printers at the same time.

wasatch will, you mentioned that you are using colourip and wasatch already so i would guess that you qualify for a discounted upgrade to the new version 6 software.

other than that shiraz xl i think still comes with 2 seats as standard, onyx allows multiple devices also.

PC wise dual core should be ok, but separate processors would be better. as long as you have lots of ram, its also possible if you have separate hard drives to let each printer use a different drive for spooling etc.

i would contact wasatch to see what price they want to upgrade your existing license.

    Hi Mark

    Thanks for your reply.

My mistake, I actually have intel core 2, processors.

I was under the impression that you could have multiple devices on the rip. But can you actually print with both printers at the same time on Wasatch?

    Cheers Stephen

should be fine as i think you can have up to 4 units present.

be careful if both devices are ethernet based though as the traffic through the hub might slow it down. also make sure its a 100base hub.

i would recommend having that box purely as a rip and not running any design applications.
