  • Request to trace a long lost relative

I have received an unusual request from David Boon who is searching for his birth mother. He was adopted at a very young age without knowing who his birth parents were.

The reasoning even considering asking the question is, frankly, a ridiculously long shot but it just felt right to put it out there just in case

Through his own searches, David has managed to ascertain that he was born in Birmingham or Stoke on Trent in 1945 (he is more confident on the Birmingham bit). The thing is that he does know that his birth mother was as sign writer which may well narrow down any search via an occupation although at that time in history, one would think of course women were working in such industries as sign writing seeing as most of the able bodied men were off abroad changing the world. The long shot is if anyone can give David names of any sign companies operating in and around Birmingham and Stoke in 1945 that employed female sign writers,( did I say it was a long shot?). David understands that this is almost an impossible task and is not expecting too much but if you don’t ask…..

If anyone is prepared to help with some leads, then please contact David direct. His email is boon.army@ntlworld.com
