  • Removing bits from a smart car

    Good morning.

Could anybody tell me if it is possible to remove the passenger rear side small plastic grill from latest model smart car without taking off the panel; it looks like it should pop out if eased carefully but it’s mighty tight in there.

Also the rear light clusters, is the only way to wrap over and trim carefully or is panel removal the best option (trembles slightly :lol1: )

    Thank you

oops, spoke too soon, loosened evrything at lunchtime, front Ok but back side panels and rear seem to have something preventing from taking off, one point on each side around about at top where the roll cage thingy swoops above the window.

I pulled out the panel from the bottom and four clips came away each side but then it held tight at point I just mentioned, would take a lot of courage to try and pull harder if there is just another clip at this point.

    Can anyone enlighten me please?

I would leave the panels in place, no need to remove,
the grill can stay there to. by removing them you will make thinks harder, as hard to hold still when wrapping of the car.

If Peter reckons you can do it fine with the bits all attached, go with that, don’t make yourself a job. I don’t do wrapping, so I can’t comment.

I have from a mechanical and bodywork angle had a play with these, and if your pulling hard at stuff, you’ve missed some screw somewhere!!

They are proper rubbish mechanically, but I’ll give them their due, they come to bits easily, often just through day to day use. LOL

Thank you all for the information and advice, I will let you know how things progress.

I don’t do wrapping myself at the moment but help out the guy that does so I am learning slowly.
