Registration marks on shiny silver

some times you may need to put a sheet over the machine to stop reflected light.

other times put some application tape near the marks this helps to make a contrast. remove before cutting

mirror silver gold and reflectives do give a little bother

I don’t know the machine but if it has a light as part of the sensor try turning the room lights off. I’ve had problems with chrome before and that helped. Also, placing tracing paper over the registration mark helps, if possible.

I found an option in SignLab – smoothing and I tried it, using different values but every time I`ve got the same error.

I really like Chris’ advice.

No, this is a serious issue and is in addition to Michal’s other question about registration marks. I infer from Michal’s statements that the optical eye on his machine is not picking up the registration marks because the media itself is interfering with the optical eye.

SignLab is being improved to help with these sorts of situations, but the code did not make it into the latest release build. For the time being, what I might suggest is to follow advice from Chris and Andy, and let us know how that goes.

I`m using cutter with optical eye and I think that shiny paper diffuse the light so I`ve problems with cut.

I`ll follow Yours advice.

Turning light off don`t work, but mark tape is a quite good solution.

I`m thinking about inverted reg marks – printer prints square which inside of it is non printed reg mark – have You ever heard about something like this?

Yes, I’ve done that. A black square with a clear circle inside. It did work. This was on a system that would accept any 8mm circle as a reg mark.
