  • Reflective vinyl on a banner?

Posted by Martin Cole on 15 November 2005 at 17:19

I have a customer who has asked a couple of times regarding a banner
with reflective lettering. (white reflective on black banner)

Keep trying to put him off the idea thinking it wouldn’t work, but would it?

Has anyone used reflective on a banner? If so did it last.

    Regards

    Martin

    😮
    Reflective on a banner!

I remember seeing a conformable reflective at the sign show a few years back – that might do, but I wouldn’t give any warranty with a job like that.

I can’t recall the name of the vinyl but I’m sure someone on here will know.

Also, you can get reflective material to heat press onto garments – It might work!

    Cheers

    Thanks Joe.

Normally wouldn’t entertain this job, but he is my biggest customer who’s
had loads of banners over the last few mths so I thought it might be
    worth asking about it.

I explained the warranty would expire once it left my premises!!

3M has a white reflective vinyl for banners. I can’t remember the name of it though :lol1:
I’ve used it a couple of years ago. Looked really cool but was horrifying expensive 😮 😮 😮

Martin something else worth checking on might be if he is allowed to display the banner without council permission. Dont know if there are any regs covering this but on a vehicle reflective vinyl is treated as light, thats why you cant use white reflective on the back of a vehicle. ie: no white light to be shown to rear.
If the council view this the same way they may say you need planning permission for tempory lighting!!
