  • Recommendations for wrap/colour change vinyl MACal 9859-00

Quite a long subject title I know but trying to be descriptive 😉

I have 6 Scania cabs to cover, just the bottom half, in Red vinyl.

I’ve already done these and in the past using Mactac 9800 bubble free but I’ve now run out of it so I’m wanting something similar or better.

Priced up 3M Controltac 1080 Dark red and was happy with that but it’s the wrong shade of red.

Most of the area is quite easy but I have to go round the bottom of the doors and I also have to go inside the hatch cutouts on the side plus the new hatches are bigger and thinner so the vinyl has to go around this edge to the inside.

So if anyone has any recommendations for a vinyl in the right colour that’d be great.

I’m also hoping to pop into William Smiths on Wednesday to have a look at their colour swatches but I’m not sure I’ll find anything near enough.

    Thanks
    Steve

i’ve used Hexis 20000 with good sucess, on a Subaru Impreza Rally car and a few vans and find it a Beauty to apply
    😀
I am a avery & 3m fan at heart but at the time they wer 4x the price and budjet didn’t suit and i have to say that Hexis still looks good 18 Months later

Sounds good, do they have a match for Macal 9859-00 red though?

    Edit

Just found a swatch, is it the MG2000, if so they have a shade each side 🙄

There are 4 reds in the Avery supreme wrap range. Spandex were doing it on offer a few weeks back, £17 which was a good price.

Thanks for both of those, I’ll get some prices and swatches.

Just been to finish the first one and talked about the vinyl and as long as it’s very close then they’ll be happy, no need for an exact match. But to be honest I’d rather it was near enough the same so that there is no chance of them complaining about the colour.
