I can’t see a problem. Windows 8 is just a rebuild of 7. As an early adopter of windows 8 I thought I was going to have loads of problems with versaworks, signlab and the adobe suite i have not being compatable but all fine installed and set up perfectly. From what I have read 7 was just built onto vista and with 8 that basicly rebuilt 7 from the ground up, stuck a silly start screen on and called it windows 8
I have bits of software that’s only built for vista or Xp that works fine max cut, myPanton ect and they work fine

    Hi Richard,

tried to get flexi 7.5 to work on windows 7 64 bit – I can’t do it….and upgrade to 10.5 expensive. There is a way that you can get an XP emulator of sorts in Windows 7 – but I cant get that to work either…

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/wind … -windows-7

Am using my old computer and switching between that and the new one…not ideal.

Up ’til now I’ve stuck with W7…W8 is diabolical as a business machine for those of us running older software.

Run W7 64bit – but any old programs under XP SP2 mode NOT SP3 as it often doesn’t work. Not had a need for emulators or virtual machines.

    So far – flawless.

I have been doggedly clinging to xp on all three PCs in my studio, but I just got a letter from my computer guy saying that microsoft are not going to support xp much longer.
I am already getting "Security" alerts from various websites – twitter for one, for some reason it wont even let me continue to that site.
And my email alerts me every time I fire it up.
SO reluctantly I am forced to upgrade. I hope that all my software will still be viable, and I will be easily able to find my way around the system. .
I have heard nothing good about windows 8, so I will upgrade to 7 and hope for the best.
    Simon.

    Hi Gents Ok
first all up and running no problems as follows
    signlab 9.1
    Flexisign 7.0v2

    versaworks 4.8 sorry 4.9.1
all going well, cant say I dont like 8, its hard as first to work your way round things but some bits are faster, like looking for files and more options using the ribbon system.
so touch wood all is going to plan, even network that ripdrive Dave !!!!!
