The transfer press offer an alternative but I have no idea of prices.
The Roland software from Xpres used to be £200.

are the gems s/a then sealed by the heat press ?
what does the software do other than put dots in the right place ?
does it then cut a stencil ? if so what material ?

    just thinking

I think it turns a picture into a representation of that picture using dots.
I think the stones then go into the holes and they are then picked up by a sticky carrier which is then heat pressed.
I have seen a demo using an engraving machine but this software puts it through a cutter onto….vinyl maybe.

The Transfer Press system can be found here: http://www.thetransferpress.co.uk/acata … ystem.html you need to invest a whopping £1300 😮 into the system unless I’ve read it wrong.

Grafityp also have a system available but can’t find it online.

with out any gems to prove it but you have every thing to do it as to see if you want to spend on the software.
been plying with corel v10 on my laptop and not to long to place dots on a word. i think that on the work machine in x3 would be a lot quicker.
cut the dots with cheap thick vinyl. weed dots, flood and clean off the gems, pick up with heat transfer tape, press.

if the heat trans tape picks up the vinyl then need to lift the lot stick to bit of paper then lift off the gems.

not a permanent solution but will get you going to see if you want to spend the extra.

i am sure that this could be stream lined in corel x3 4 using snap to object or fit to path.

i await the sound of guns to shoot me down

there is a way to set it to place dots by converting text to curves & then using the artistic media brush. You do have to set up the media brush with the correct size dots.

    thanks Kev.

just done this and will with a little fiddling create the cut path, but i presume that you need the gems to create the correct size hole. that the gems will fall in to and stay.

thanks to Mr Dunn for that.

so i might buy some for a laugh.

Hi, my first post, sorry not done an intro yet but I had to add this to the debate. Those systems seem to cut a mask and let the rhinestones fall through the holes. Cut out one process, this machines places the rhinestones directly on the carrier…. Crystal Press
