Been having a few cutting issues since a head/axis crash last year whilst cutting some new signs for the mother-in-laws farm.

The issue is poor quality of cut/incomplete cutting ( please see attached photo of an old file i attempted to cut in T-shirt flex..as i thought this may be the best to highlight the issue)

Working up & down the offset scale, no real happy medium, to double check i used the same value across the roll width the first one wasn’t bad at all, but by the time it was cutting over towards the left the square pattern was very poor

Below are areas i’ve reviewed in hope of solving the problem:

Grit rollers are clean & leave a nice uniform imprint i the vinyl liner.
All grub screws seem to be tight on grit roller
A new cutting strip has been fitted (391-886)
New pair of media nip rollers (391-326)
    X & Y axis belts (small ones changed) (MB9124 & MB9129)
A new blade holder tried (391-332)
Pair of media flanges purchased (391-510)

Really am drawing a blank now & the mother-in-law is in need of a few more bits!

Look forward to hearing from you in due course.

    Kind Regards
    Jay

I find issues such as wildly distorted letters are worse on garment vinyls, not sure why, and they seem worse on one side than the other.

I too have replaced belts (at vast expense for a £2 drive belt!) and checked everything I can think of. I do find that it is sometimes the media itself, on textile vinyl I run through about 6" of material and occasinally tape a steel rule along the front edge to keep it taught.

Always use a sharp blade and keep the cutting pressure as low as poss, I use around 90g max for regular textile films.

set your offset to the factory recommended, 0.35mm?? I forget. I use smart knives which are a 0.48 offset I believe.

Have you tried slowing the speed down? I only run around 200mm ps.

as for the chunks cut out or added, I’m not sure, that looks more like a software issue as the cutter will only try and cut what it’s told to.. as far as I can make out!
