Had an enquiry for "architectural plaques or signs for a town project. corresponding to the Sun and planets. Each one is different, but they all consist of an image and text. The images show a planet or the Sun in colour against a black background, with fine detail down to a fraction of a millimetre."

Now, if it wasn’t for the entirely black background I’d go etched stainless, but flooding the infill is as near as damn-it impossible.

Also got to be exterior grade, fade proof & vandal resistant.

OK, got me thinking about dye-sub – but that can be scratched…reverse print polycarb (8 to 10mm) – but it can fade (5yrs or so)….or might crinkle in direct sun (black background).

The only thing I can think of is proper ‘enameled tiles’, but you’re looking at many, many hundreds to buy..and never seen anything that big before!!

Any and all suggestions welcome….…or words of wisdom from similar things 😀

    Hi Dave

Not sure if I’m on the right track or not and you may already be aware of this process, but came across this company at SignUK and I’m very impressed with the quality and ‘promises’ they offer regarding their products.

The process they use involves digital printing onto aluminium sheet and anodising combined. It all looked very impressive at the show and they subsequently sent a sample to me which is first class.

    Hope this might help.

    Regards

Cheers – I’d seen that method before. It’s pretty durable too.

Have requested sample etc. as I’d only seen it done 3 or 4 years ago when it was pretty new on the UK market.
