Hi Tony
Tar & Glue remover available in gallon cans from any good automotive
suppliers about £16 -
FatBob’s advice is good. Tar and glue remover is always our first port of call.
We do occasionaly find, though, that it doesn’t always work very well, which I put down to different types of adhesive on the original vinyl.
White spirit and (provided the H&S man isn’t looking) petrol can also be useful solvents.

hi scant.. thanks for your input mate.. good to see another from across the pond 😀
ive used rapid tac.. i find it very good.. well the application fluid i mean.
the remover is good also but tar and glue remover does do just as good a job at a fraction of the cost. 🙄

Hi, the guys here used to use Tar and Glue remover, but are now using Acetone, comes in a 5 ltre can and really seems to do the business. It’s not a nice job to do and this seems to work very well.

how is it compared on price to tar & glue?
where can i buy it?
many thanks for any help mate 😉

Surely with all that labour its cheaper to buy a new banner!!

Kev, you beat me to it…….stripping vinyl from banners is on the same list as washing customer’s vans…sorry I don’t do it!
I had one clown recently bring me a Sainsburys banner – “can you just paint this blue for me, then put white letters on to keep the cost down”.
Told him to go play in traffic!
cheers
Joe
