I need to find a supplier for a projector clock. You know, it shines a clock image onto the wall. Not one of those nasty lcd type clocks; a nice Roman clock face. Exterior use (and internal as well) needed.

    Anyone?

    Ta.

hi andy, ive not long reformatted my comp or i could have sent you a list of links mate. try googling for them. it takes a bit of time as some of the firms use "not so obvious" keywords for the projectors, which makes it a bit time consuming but there lots and at decent prices. i wasnt looking for clocks but found lots of clocks within my searches.
if i rememember any of the sites ill post here.

Still searching for an external version of this. Plenty of indoor ones, just no weatherproof ones.

    Anyone?

No, it is going to go on a flat roof outdoors and shine onto the gable end of the building. I have found one way of doing it; a proper lighting unit (like you have at discos) with a clock attachment. Bleeding expensive though, so I’m still looking.

Customers and their strange requests, bah!

andy, you can pick up old light projectors as low as £40 from disco lighting hire companies… ive bought a few over the years. how compatible they would be for adding attachments like clocks etc is another thing…
the attachment part with the clock/log etc can be expensive because for the powerful projectors a gobo is reuired and i think thats were the bucks start going out the door. for custom/one off ones anyway…

these arent cheap but do second hand ones, still expensive though…

im not sure about the whole outdoor suitable projectors, i recon you would still require some sort of clear acrylic box for it to sit in?

you could modify this one to work… 😉

I had found the optikinetics website but it doesn’t state whether they are suitable for outdoor use. I shall have to ring them. Unbelievably expensive though, probably a couple of grand for the spot and clock unit!

I have found an indoor model which is quite nice, for anyone that’s interested.
