  • Projecting signs and Neon in Ireland

Posted by Harry Cleary on 28 November 2007 at 09:22

Anyone know where I can get a projecting internally lit box sign in Ireland?
Also is there a supplier of ‘off the shelf readymade neon signs’ that say ‘Takeaway’ ‘Delivery’ and stuff like that?
    Preferably located in Ireland too
    Thanks

    Hi Harry

I agree with Brian re. the Projecting Signs (But these are supplied to Sign+Digital by a Scottish company called Circlit)

For the Neon Sign, would you consider pre-made LED signs instead? If so, try these guys…

cheers lads……..what would be the main differences between LED and Neon?
Which is the quality product in terms of dependability and installation?

    Hi Harry

From what I understand (which some would say is very little) Neon uses more electricity but is brighter. LED uses minimal power, can be ‘moving’ style or flashing and lasts for about 100,000 hours, which is about 10 years.

LED signs are less costly too in my experience.

thanks Martin……one more thing….are the LED ones just plug and play or does it require installation by an electrician? What would be a ball park figure for a Flashing Takeaway sign for a restaurant window?
    Thanks, appreciate it

whoops that was two things! 😀

The LED lights are just plug-in use. Standard 13amp plugtop.

Sorry – no details of costs, but I would imagine a couple of hundred squid.
