Problems with small text…
Posted by David Seaman on 14 September 2005 at 09:12Problems with small text…
I am having problems cutting small text, each letter is approx 13mm in height (then the rest just scales out)
Anyways, has anyone got any tips, should… run the machine on a slower speed? More pressure?
I am having issues with weaving I need to make it a little easier.
I use corel 12 with signcut on a Signwizard UC700 cutter.

i started doing small text when i first got the cutter, lots of it too ! did find that slowing the speed down helped somewhat, probably about 1/2 of the factory setting, infact i’ve never set it faster to be honest !
other people have suggested that where possible, apply the whole thing unweeded, and then weed as it will be alot easier, i keep forgetting to try it but ‘m sure it works !

just remember , applying first and weeding after wont work for T-shirts etc…

:lol1: Steve, are you talking from experience here?

13mm is not really small, never heard of your make of plotter, but has it always had a problem or has it just started?
Is the cutting strip in good order?

Carrie , thankfully not….but i can bet the the first cut i do is always unmirrored when using garment vinyl…
what a nightmare it is swapping from sign vinyl to garment in my head !!!!!!!

:lol1: Yes, Ive lost count of the amount of times we forgot to mirror before cutting garment material in our early days!!

We just used to tell people that it was a design feature, so that the T could be read in a rear view mirror!

Hi people,
Been getting a strange problem wiyh my cutter recently. Every so often after a job has been cut , it cuts a single line for approx a meter long on the top of the panel. Also gives me message of the above. Any ideas ?

that sort of problem is normally with serial driven plotters.
handshaking and or poor cable connections the cause as a rulechris

Matt , your not using a p-cut & signcut through corel by any chance ?
