  • Problem with sublimation printing Epson D88

    Hi,
I have been printing mousemats for some time now without a hitch. However, yesterday, I was doing a small order for 20 mousemats. The first 5 sheets printed perfectly and then the rest seemed to "blotch" around the darker colours. I checked inks etc and all was fine. I also printed a different picture and that was fine, so I am absolutely baffled.
I used Epson D88 printed and Corel Draw. As I say, anything else I print is perfect. The print heads are fine.
    Has anybody experienced this before.
    Hoping for some advice.
    Susan

This might sound daft, but, did you by any chance put more paper in which could have been put in the wrong way around in error ? I had a similar experience years ago when I printed onto the wrong side.

Have you tried to reprint the image after doing the other picture which was okay ? If all the others were fine then I’d say it sounds like it was a hitch with the paper.

    Just a thought though 🙂

What paper are you using, papers like texprint I find give a more blotchy image and are better on fabrics (not glossy mousemats if thats what you’re using)
BMS do texprint and another unbranded one that is crystal clear and sharp on hard surfaces.
I had some name tags with the same problem the other day as I only had texprint left.
