Problem with Plotting Speed for Mutoh SC1000
Hi All,
The problem is that when we are cutting vinyl i can adjust the plotting speed fine. However once it has finished cutting an shape and moves to another shape to plot, that it does it so fast that it stalls the machine. Do i have to go in to a service menu to adjust this speed? I’ve been through the manual and can find no way of altering this speed. Any help would be appriciated. As well as being very annoying it’s also wastefull of material. I end up cutting most things on our Grenadier.

How does it stall the machine?
If it’s because it can’t unroll the vinyl fast enough, then just manually unroll enough before you start cutting.

Hi John,
Yeah we do that already, You should see it. It’s like lightning. When i turn the cut speed down to the lowest setting (10%) it cuts at a snails pace then when it moves on to the next shape it jumps in to warp speed. We are cutting on it, but it’s just too unreliable for more liking. 🙁

Well, I don’t know whether you can adjust that speed in your particular plotter but, if not, try to lower the acceleration. Some plotters have a command for that in their set-up menus. If so, lower it as far as it will go.
If there’s no specific acceleration setting, look for a quality one and set that to max. That usually does exactly the same thing

on a roland sol jet its called PEN UP speed look for something similar.
