  • Problem printing reverse on clear and backing with white

Hi there. I have a versa camm 54″ and have tried numerous times to print reverse decals on clear and then laminate them with white. When we go to contour, the clear seams to stretch and the contour is off. Sometimes up to 1/4″. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, is there a clear vinyl that won’t stretch or is it the heat that is doing it? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

are you maybe laminating them too soon? its advised to leave prints a minimum of 24hrs before laminating to allow outgassing.

Do not cut with the heater on , read the crop marks cold , cut cold , cut with a 60 degree blade
Prior to printing , do an environmental calibration and then do an auto print/cut alighnment (on the menu) and if that doesnt work , do a more specific detialed print cut alighnment as shown in the user manual. If this does not solve the problem , the machine needs a hardware alignment and that can only be done by a technician.
A tip is when laying up , do NOT put all the images on the sheet , use one and use the rip to print multiples. the registration and cutting are more accurate and it is hugely faster when ripping.
Use the same type of white vinyl as the type you print on , ie cast with cast etc. We do a lot of this with no problems whatsoever.

Thanks guys. I have not waited 24 hours, didn’t think of that, so will try it. As for cutting, the heater has been on. I will try and turn that off. We definately use same grade of vinyl together, so knew it wasn’t that, and always apply multiples in the rip. We will have a look at calibration, and try all that. When printing and cutting any other decals, no problem. Even after laminating no problem. Only when backing with white.
