    hey guys, im having a nightmare at the moment trying to print a light grey. Im printing onto Avery 1900.. its almost giving a marble effect and the avery logos underneath are visable??? iv told spandex and they have taken a sample… still no news yet though. i hope its just a bad roll and that i get a refund… has anyone else had problems printing greys?? its driving me crazy!!

    Can you post a clear photo – is the grey a true grey or has it got some colour casting? If so, you may have to change your dot pattern if the profile you are using will allow it. Another thing to try is to turn the grey part to a bitmap (like you would with a blend if its giving you banding/stepping instead of a smooth blend)

    Ben, I have had great trouble trying to get a proper grey to print on my SP-300. It seems to have a green tint all the time. I use Hexis V351.

    Mark, that’s interesting, I tried converting to greyscale which gave a perfect grey colour but was heavily banded. Does the bitmap format cure it as opposed to jpg then?
