    Hello,

I’m totally new to all this so please show mercy on me because what I am about to say will most probably be stupid!

We have an OKI printer here and number plate printing software so that we can run off our own acrylic plates. I’ve been given the job of learning how to use it.

I know there has been a previous post regarding this, but I didn’t manage to improve my technique based on this info, so I’m posting to see if anyone has any tips (or an entire method)?

I don’t understand how, without making the film lie totally flush to the bed, can you ever get good results (bubble free!)?

I lay the film down on the bed, line it up to the pins, hold the acrylic over the top: sometimes it works just to drop it from a few inches height; sometimes I hold it horizontally flat and snap it down. But I find both ways so hit and miss! There must be a better way??

How can you be sure that both screws are tightened to the same tightness? What is the best tightness to use? And should you run it through once less tightly, and then a second time with the screws tightened more…?

Any help or tips would be SO appreciated!

    Thanks in advance,

    Helen

    Hi
simplest solution, remove adhesive protective film from plate – spray/mist with vinyl application fluid – apply film onto wet surface – squeegee out and then laminate via pressure roller. hey presto – no bubbles.
