  • Problem combining print/cut jobs across the roll in VPM

Posted by Peter Dee on 5 February 2010 at 10:17

If I send to separate print & cut jobs to VPM whether by auto nest or manual layout, I can not set the jobs side by side across the vinyl roll. If I try to do this I get a message "The content on this section of media can not be processed at the same time. Move jobs highlighted in red to a new section of media."
Even if I select auto nest, although they line up across the vinyl I get the same message.
Can someone please point out the obvious as to why I can’t set 2 small test print/cut images across the vinyl roll (with lots of width to spare) or is it only possible for print only jobs to do this?

I dont think you can do it because of the registration marks, which are added during the print and cut preview, rather than in the rip. I normally combine multiple P & C jobs before sending to the vmp.

Thanks Peter. I wasn’t using reg marks in this case as not laminating.
I figured combining the jobs might be the way to go and you have confirmed it.
