  • Printing Photos/Logos onto T-Shirts etc

    Hi everyone

We use the Ultragraphics system to print full colour logos and photos, onto t-shirts, mostly for stag and hen do’s, or small company logos, etc, for small runs.

What company would anyone recommend getting the special paper from, which we need to print these logos, etc?

We have tried Xpres, didn’t get good results from their paper (constantly changing) (£120 per 100 A4 sheets). We had some good stuff from Novachrome (£75 per 50 A3 sheets Nova Dark), but apparently they don’t do it now, they now do Multi Dark, which is £75 per 50 A4 sheets, plus £21.50 for sheets of finishing paper, which is a heck of a price increase.

Any ideas on how to get photos and logos onto light and dark t-shirts at a reasonable price and a good quality? We already do sublimation but that’s only for white t-shirts. We only do small runs, mostly 1-5 at a time.

    Any advice really appreciated.

    Many thanks

    Jane

i get my paper from victory design, inkjet dark £90 for 50 A3 sheets. I think it is still quite expensive but they deliver really quickly and havent had any problems since they have changed their supplier about a year ago.

I used to use Evolution 2 paper from Target transfers – I found to have excellent washability. I’ve stopped doing it these days due to my epson 1290 printer being frankly the worst behaved piece of equipment in the world 🙂

Hi! I’m currently using printable flex paper from BMS printing which is £119 for 100 A4 sheets. I’ve been using it for several months now with excellent results. It doesn’t tend to tear like the cheap stuff you can buy in the high street shops and washes very well. It takes pigment inks and tranfers onto 100% coloured cotton garments.

I use the T shirt dark paper from Xpres and its brilliant, crystal clear photo reproduction and sharp logos and graphics, I just did a load of samples today on mini t shirts for a camp site and they were over the moon.
Xpres have released a new paper which works with the new ultrabrite epson inks, we found this out the hard way as we had a box of the other paper that didnt work with it, we sent it back for a box of t shirt dark specially for the ultrabrite ink and the R1800, D88/68 etc and now its fine, the settings you need are plain paper and photo, in the printer settings with this paper rather than photo paper like it was in the last batch.

Not sure if this is your problem but it certainly sorted mine, and the results are excellent.
    Its £100 a box + vat still I think
    good luck
