Hi – could anyone recommend a supplier or actual product – we need printable etch vinyl we are currently using Macal Glass Decor for cut jobs we have printed on it but bit worried about durability on this big-ish project in the pipeline… thanks

Hi Martin, we do a lot of etch vinyl work. What type of application is it doing can perhaps offer some suggestions

We use Hexis air release etch vinyl.

We rang them to see if their printable was the same colour as their normal etch. As we had 2 printed panels and 3 just etch. They sent a sample and it was the same colour

But they suggest we try to print on the normal etch first.

It printed fine, it was for an office so no weather conditions to think about

You could reverse print on clear vinyl then laminate with the etch

    Thanks Guys and Girls

This will be installed on internal glass partitions, we wanted to print on clear and then back up in etch but client opposes (I think they had a bad experience with previous suppliers and their methods).

We have printed on our standard frosting and it looks ok client approved it’s just that the supplier doesn’t class it as printable so the official line from them is that we can print on it but they can’t reassure us the vinyl will not fall off in few months time. We print using SS21’s on Mimaki printers – the stuff we used is from Mcal Glass Decor Range…

We have printed direct to 3M and metamark etch using eco solvent inks both with no issues

Thanks – in which case I think this is what we will do in that instance…

    Hi.

All Print Supplies (APS) do a couple of printable frosted vinyl media. One is the standard frosted etch (DSAF80) and the other one is silver (DSAS80).
