  • Printing on clear and backing with white, whats the best way

    Hi all,

I have a customer who wants vinyl from the inside of his windows,

There are approximately 10 strips of 6" by 10 ft to be applied.

Now i’ve done similar before but just wanted to know what method you guys use as i see advantages and disadvantages in both laminating the white and cutting to shape the white and then applying during the fitting process.

    could anyone advise,

    Thank you

Reverse print on clear and laminate with white vinyl.

Make sure your vinyl is white backed and not grey.

Soapy water on the windows and apply in one piece nice and easy!

    Thanx for the quick reply,

my concerns are if doing it that way will it leave silvering or will it be okay?

also as i’m doing them in ten strips would you cut the clear and the white in the 6" strips in advance? as you wouldn’t be able to see anything when the white is on.

I’m thinking of crop marks on the clear leaving 4-5mm short of the 6 inch then manual cut this and then the white as 6", cut on vinyl cutter then laminate all the strips. would you recommend doing it this way?

    thanx

Gerber edge them onto clear and print white as an over print then contour cut the rectangles out.

    Wet fit them. Easy peasy
