I’ve been subbing some stuff out to a local guy but he’s crap 😮 Let’s not beat about the bush on this one.

The only reason i started using him was because he owed me money that he couldn’t repay so i started taking it in trade.

Anyway I’m not at the point that I want to print up alot of different types of flyer’s in low quantities so don’t want to pay for 1000’s at a time.

I’ve got a Epson Stylus CX3650 & OKI 5400 which I use for other things, anyone know if I could manage decent flyers on any of those or should I buy a A3 inkjet printer like the HP Designjet

Also where is the best place to buy media paper for doing flyers

It would probably be cheaper to get them done properly for all the costs of full colour printing these days and will look a hundred times better, unless you have a guillotine or folding machine etc!

    – only my opinion mind but its the first thing people will see and if ever i see homemade leaflets/cards i always what other corners are being cut within the business! and I may be stupid but I would not go to any business that made there own cards on a home computer.

    Hey John

Check out Vista Print on line service, I think they do flyers and their prices are quiet good.

    cheers

Ring a decent printer mate and tell him you want them doing trade.

To be honest, in-house printing is never all that cheap with ‘normal’ printers.

Most printing companies will do about 5000 A5 full colour glossy prints for £70 or £80.

To get an idea – type "5000 A5 flyers" into that well know auction site 😉 or call round some of your local printers.

ps. Vistaprint (online) is pretty good – heard good things from a few of my customers.

John I have to agree with the comments already made so far, if I see home made fliers and business cards I tend to put them straight in the bin without even looking at them. Rightly or wrongly I see it the same way as mordax, if people are cutting corners on their own advertising what other corners are they cutting and also if they think so little of their own business what chance is there that they will do a decent job for me? I’m not saying it is right or that if you produce your own stationary you won’t do a good job but I think that is just how a lot of people see it.

Someone like vista print are pretty cheap for all sorts of printing if you don’t have someone local you can use for trade printing and like others I have heard so good things about their service although I haven’t used them myself.

It was more just the idea of being able to do low amounts of different flyer’s that I liked if I was doing it myself, also if I was doing them myself I’d use double sided gloss for better results…… I wouldn’t just be printing onto paper :lol1:

At the moment I’ve got 3 different types of flyer’s that I’ve got online that I’d like to get printed as I please

I’m not cutting corners on my work, that’s why I can’t afford to get flyer’s printed by the 1000’s :lol1:

Thanx for all the options and opinions so far
