• Printing help!!

Hi all, can anyone help me please?

I have created some artwork in coreldraw x3, saved it as a .tiff then opened it in ColourRip 2.2 and where there should be a grey shadow fade effect it just shows a dark solid shadow.

Then i tried saving it as an .eps and opened it in rip software and when i print it the gradient/ shadow becomes really grainy.

Please can anyone shed any light on what i might be doing wrong

Any help or advice is much appreciated

    cheers

my preference is to separate the drop shadow and export as a jpg.

Hi Chris, sorry if this sounds daft but what do you mean separate the drop shadow?

sorry thought this was a drop shadow which is a transparent bitmap over vectors and colour rip does struggle with that combination.

    Hi Stephen/Chris,

Please try importing the tiff and the eps file back into x3 to see if the files themselves were corrupted during the save process or if it is the RIP which is failing. If it is the RIP I can give you a download link to test (will deface the prints until licensed) the upgrade version of the software to see if that works correctly.

Watch the sizing when doing a jpeg from Coral mate. For some reason every Jpeg I export Shiraz resizes it sometimes as much as 300mm.
Try exporting as a PDF and see if that works.
