We are in the process of creating our own brochure.
We have our own Grenadier printer and have considered printing it ourselves?

Is this a viable option ? or best left to a printer ?
If this is ok, any recommendations on suitable paper ? and where from ?

well, it might be cost effective for the 2-3 off but not a run of them.
I suspect the ink will cost

If you’re not thinking of doing a lot of brochures, one of the options you might consider is finding a printshop with a colour copier. If you can give them a nicely construced PDF file chances are they can be very reasonable in cost. A lot of shops with colour copies have become very serious about copier quality and they test which papers provide better results. Some of these shops are doing some really great quality digital work. Not only will this method be cheaper but chances are it will look lots better too. There is a point where digital no longer is the most cost effective way to go and at that point you might want to talk to a sheet fed litho shop.

    Good luck.

If you want a larger run of brochures I would recommend RCS.

They offer good competitive prices and quick turn around.

    Cheers

RCS is OK for run of the mill stuff……they achieve there pricing by planning up the jobs and printing yours with others. I have used them for nearly 10 years.

Most places will take PDF’s these days as stated. Make sure artwork is set up correctly though when creating the PDF. With images at 300dpi and bleeds etc. As Rob stated digital output is ok but you get to a point where litho is more cost affective and truethfully it still is superior to digital.

What size leaflet / brochure are you thinking of?
    What sort of quantity?
